Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)
This book was pretty funny.  Not as funny as The Office but still funny.  I did enjoy it and it was a quick read for those of you who are selective on what you read you might not want to read it.  There is some language and she talks about anything.  She is a girl after my own heart.  This was also a quick read.  Available for ebooks so you can't go wrong.

The Magicians - Lev Grossman

The Magicians
I didn't really feel the love for this book.  I had heard that it was soooo good not sure if I expected to much and that was the problem or if I would have been equally dissapointed even if I had heard nothin.  Quentin has always loved the Fillory novels (very similar to the Lion the witch and the wardrobe series) right before graduation he finds out that magic is real and gets recruited to a magic school.  This was a little like another magical school I had read about.  However then things grew up real fast I thought.  This definately wasn't a kids book.  These kids were at school with a bunch of adult teachers but had free reign and could do whatever they wanted.  They smoked, drank, did drugs, slept around and were very dissappointing people.  After graduation realizing that they have done the most exciting things that they will ever do and that real life is boring they decide to spend the rest of their life going from one high to the next.  I am willing to give anything a try but have to admit that if I hadn't had this on my nook I wouldn't have finished it.  The story had potential but was kind of boring.  While I wouldn't say that the letter F was a sponser of this book they did kick the word around a lot and then with all of the other content this book definately isn't for everyone.  I did really want to like it but am afraid that I didn't really care for it.

A Great Deliverance - by Elizabeth George

A Great Deliverance (Inspector Lynley Series #1)
Two police detectives from Scottland Yard get sent to a small English town to solve a horrible murder.  While there they end up discovering just how sick some people can be.  This family is so far past disfunctional that they can't even see it in the rear view mirror.  Yes I did just say that.  I loved this book though so much I got the movie from the library yes it was made into a pbs movie and I will be watching it this weekend.

The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein

The Invisible Wall: A Love Story That Broke Barriers

Ok I cannot tell you how much I loved, loved, loved this book.  I couldn't put it down.  It was so good.  This is the story of Harry (the author of the book) from about 4 to maybe 12.  He and his family lived on a street in England where one side of the street was Jewish families and the other side was Christian.  The story follows their daily lives and some of the things that happen I laughed, I cried and everything in between.  If there is such thing does that make sense?  I recommend this book, if you read no other book this year this is the one I think that you should read.  He has written two others that come after this and I have them from the library and will be reading them next.

Flutter by Amanda Hocking

Flutter (My Blood Approves Series #3)

Alice life is still exciting and so are the people in it.  This is the third book in the my blood approves series.  Don't want to say to much cause of spoilers but it was good.  I have started the fourth and I think it might be the best of them all.
